pattern review: the madison cardigan

Hey guys, it's been quite a while since I've posted anything on my blog, but I've definitely tried to keep my Instagram content consistent. If you haven't followed me on IG make sure you head on over to to Instagram and follow me @patterns_n_ peas

I'm always on the lookout for versatile pieces to add to my wardrobe that can be worn multiple times and multiple ways so when Style Sew Me designed and made this pattern available to purchase I knew I had to snag me one! Let me tell y'all about this pattern!! IT IS THE EASIEST, QUICKEST, and MOST VERSATILE piece you could ever make on your own. What I love about this piece is that you can dress it up or pair it with a fitted tee, leggings, and a pair of ballet flats. This is definitely a piece I will make over and over. I cut the size medium, and I'd say it fits me perfectly.

I wouldn't say pink is a frequent color that I usually wear (it's not in my wardrobe color wheel), but there's something about a light rosy type of pink that gives me a classy type of look. Since it's Fall here in Texas (depending on what day it is lol), I wanted this cardigan to keep me warm and cute at the same time. For the fabric I chose 2.5 yards of this beautiful sweater knit found here. I don't think it's available anymore, but you can use this fabric here, here, and here. The sleeves normally stop about an inch above your wrist, I prefer a longer sleeve, so I added an inch to the sleeve pattern. Here's how the cardigan turned out:

Can I just say I just LOVE how this cardigan moves and flows when I walk!

There's a saying that you shouldn't wear white after Labor Day, I think that is more of an old-fashioned trend lol. I definitely think in this day and age you can wear white whenever the heck you want! (Unless, of course, I wouldn't if I were going to a wedding as a guest :) )

I wanted the pink color of my cardigan to stand out so I paired my outfit with wearing all white. (Top: old, Jeans: The Gap, Shoes: old, Belt: Zara
