Welcome to Patterns and Peas!

I thought I'd tell you guys a little bit about myself for my first blog post. I am a wife, a mother, and I love to sew. I found my passion for sewing a couple of years ago by scrolling through Pinterest one day. I came across many photos of cute and inspiring outfits, and several of them were DIY. I already had a sewing machine (which was collecting dust LOL), so I decided to pull it out and start practicing.
YouTube and reading sewing books helped me perfect my craft. There were several occasions when I messed up outfits (and fabric), and I had to start my projects over and over again. I kept going, and I never gave up.
I knew eventually I wanted to document my sewing journey, but I wasn't exactly comfortable with posting or showing my work. I really wanted to perfect my craft. Although I'm far from perfect (I still make mistakes), I am now confident enough to display my work via blogging.
Cooking and entertaining is another passion of mine I've always had. I enjoy eating out with friends, or even trying a new bottle of wine. My Instagram posts usually consist of something I've cooked, sewn, or something I've tried at a restaurant.
I really want my blog to be geared more towards DIY, sewing, and everyday life. My future posts will be either something I've sewn and pieced together with something I've bought, or, some dish I've cooked or ordered, and some drink I've tried. This is what I'm about: Looking good, feeling good, and eating good.
I hope my readers will be inspired by my content, whether you are looking for inspiration on what to wear, or for inspiration on what to cook for dinner. I can honestly say I've come a long way when it comes to sewing. It definitely takes a lot of practice and patience. There were times when I literally wanted to cut up and throw away every bad outfit I've sewn. I somehow managed to keep them. Although, I'd never wear them out, they always remind me of how far I've come. I'm glad I remained consistent and didn't give up. There's always something new to learn about the craft.
I plan on posting 1 to 2 times a month a different outfit I've sewn, or a dish I've cooked or ordered out. I really want to get the hang of blogging and hopefully within the next 3 to 6 months, I will be able to create more content for my readers. I do hope you continue to follow me on my journey, and feel free to contact me with any questions or feedback. Until then.........
XOXO Stacey
